Every meaningful journey begins with a question.
Ours began with a simple aspiration:
Can we rediscover a way of producing food that honours Nature, respects Bharat's agricultural heritage and strives towards the timeless wisdom of the Vedic way of life?
That question led us to a piece of land near Sambhar Lake in Jaipur, Rajasthan - home to Bharat's largest inland salt lake. Shaped by its naturally saline landscape, the land presented unique challenges. The high salinity of the soil and water made conventional cultivation difficult, inviting us to first understand the land before attempting to cultivate it.
Instead of trying to force the land to fit our expectations, we chose to learn from it. We observed, listened and responded to what the land was naturally communicating, allowing it to guide our decisions rather than forcing an outcome. By creating a more conducive environment and working with Nature instead of against it, we gradually explored crops suited to the region, improved soil health through thoughtful practices and continued refining our understanding with every season. Each harvest became an opportunity to learn, adapt and deepen our respect for the land and its natural rhythms.
Along this journey, another challenge became increasingly evident—the growing scarcity of authentic native seeds. As we searched for traditional varieties that had been cultivated across Bharat for generations, we came to appreciate the importance of preserving this invaluable agricultural heritage. What began as a search for seeds gradually became a deeper commitment to protecting biodiversity and encouraging the continued cultivation of native varieties
As our understanding evolved, so did Kinkri. What began as a journey of restoring a landscape gradually became a journey of restoring a relationship - with Nature, with food, and with the timeless wisdom that once guided them both. This exploration gradually grew into a premium Bharatiya food brand dedicated to offering authentic native oils, spices, grains, pulses, flours and other traditional products sourced with uncompromising attention to quality, ethics and transparency.
Today, every product reflects far more than the final harvest. It carries the story of the land, the native seeds, the farmers, the countless lessons learned and our continuing pursuit of quality, integrity and harmony with Nature.
